I have had this plant for over thirty years and it never fails. It is in full shade, watered erratically in the summer and yet it reliably blooms in September. It is one of my all stars. It will slowly form a larger clump but is amazingly low maintenance.

‘Clara Curtis’ Chrysanthemum combines well with the steely blue of Globe Thistle species, Echinops. and Sedum’Autum Joy’. For colour contrast planting, other hardy Chrysanthemums or Fall Flowering Asters would work well.

Writing this reminds me I must try to find space for a piece of this plant in full sun where it can flourish and look its best!
