Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! The colours are beautiful, the sky is blue and the evenings are crisp, very crisp now. As a consequence the flowers are fading but not totally gone. The Fall Flowering Monkshood, Aconitum carmichaelii, is still a gorgeous azure blue and the Outhouse Plant, Rudbeckia lacienata, still has a few vibrant yellow blooms to match the yellow poplar leaves. There is the odd rose and Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ has deepened its colour to a dark dusty rose. The Snapdragons, Antirrhinum have a few buds left.
I decided to gather up some of the flowers I had hung to dry in the greenhouse to make an arrangement to take me through Hallowe’en. Here is my congested jumble of, Miscanthus purpurea, Calamagrostis Karl Foerster, Papaver somniferum, Achillea, Amaranthus, Artemisia annua, Allium giganteum. Phlomis, Lunaria, Anaphalis margaritacea, Limonium sinuatum, Moluccella laevis and a few Physalis lanterns. The deer took the rest!
I confess to be disappointed on the exposure on these as the colours are actually deeper but I took the arrangement to The Gallery so will need to take better pics there!

This one took two minutes with a head of Sedum ‘Autumn Joy, Bells of Ireland, Moluccella laevis and Antirhinnum.
