In a Vase, Monday October 28

Here we are four days to Hallowe’en, the last of the fresh flowers harvested, snow caps on the mountains, slowly creeping lower as they advance and retreat in their steady advancement to the garden!

The good thing about the winter respite is a rest from the constant upkeep of the garden, a brilliant time to plan and time to be creative in other ways. I was really scrounging for ideas this week so here it is, one Sugar Pumpkin and the seed heads of my remaining Nigella, Persian Jewels or Love-In-a Mist.

As a teacher I used to own all many of cheap seasonal earrings and broaches as the kids loved it when I wore something that appealed to them. I recently gifted most of them to my now teacher granddaughter, so the ghosts and goblins have moved away but this little guy was left!

It’s time to use another sugar pumpkin to make into a warming dinner!

Recipe from this time last year:

Do head over to Catherine’s Rambling In The Garden to see what others have in their gardens at this time of year. Thank you Catherine for hosting.

Your scarecrow is adorable, Jenny, and the Nigella seedpods nicely fit the Halloween theme. Have a happy holiday!

I think it may have been accidental as there are a few Catherines on here and I was probably just looking at a Catherine’s blog! Funny though on Hallowe’en! I don’t have any spooky powers, really!!
