Wow, the snow is really retreating. There are patches showing, of brownish, green grass covered with a web of snow mold, which for us zone three dwellers is exciting. I am so happy to see the crowns of outdoor Hyacinths breaking the surface of the soil close to the house but alas no flowers outside yet.
So this is it folks. A smidgen of cut flowers from my indoor bulbs and Primula. Apart from the reblooming Amaryllis, this is the end of indoor bulb season. It may seem to Cathy of ‘Rambling in the Garden’ as if I am going into competition with miniatures! However, I really struggled to come up with something for today until I remembered these little floral pins I have owned for a very long time. After I managed find them and to squeeze a stem or two into them I remembered my one green wellie, which was once part of an RHS keyring. Silly how a person can become fond of a keyring but I was, so when the pair split in two and I lost one, I kept the other. Such a squirrel I admit!
Only the purple Primula is still blooming in the house and the Grape Hyacinths, Muscari, are now popping up beside the potted Hyacinths. One Hyacinth floret completed the set. Here they are pinned on to my green linen apron and as I won’t be wearing them on my apron, hooked over the mouse jug by the sink.

I hope most of us are now able to free our brains of T.V. news and politics and head into the soul comforting ambience of the garden.
I cleaned up the greenhouse yesterday. It felt sooo good!
