In a Vase, Monday, June 30th, 2025

Oh Canada, True North Strong and Free

Tomorrow, July 1st is CANADA DAY so in it’s honour, a red teapot filled with red and white….. and our Maple Leaf Flag of course.

Maltese Cross, Scarlet Lightning, Lychnis chalcedonica, Peach leaf Bellflower, Campanula persicaria, Sweet William Dianthus barbatus, Zonal Geranium Perlagonium and Queen Anne’s Lace, Ammi majus

Earlier last week I thought I was stumped for flowers. There seemed to be a lull in the garden and flowers were either just over or just beginning. However ,when I went out to glean a few blooms, picking the odd one of this and a bit of that I ended up with a cheerful splash of summer.

In another thrift store vase are; Yellow Loostrife, Lysimachia punctata, Peach Leaf Bellflower, Campanula persicifolia, the last of the Ranunculus and Anemone, Lady’s Mantle, Alchemilla mollis, Poppies Papaver or Oreomecon nudicaulis and a sprig of Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium

Wishing everyone a Happy Canada Day, to think of us if not Canadian but to celebrate if you are. Elbows Up!

Your patriotic vase works brilliantly and the lychnis is spot on to represent the maple leaf in the flag. I love the orange splashes in your second vase, which is a real sunny offering. Thanks for sharing them both

I love both your arrangements, Jenny! Enjoy your holiday tomorrow. Canada can stand proud of its position in the world, something I don’t think the US can do under current circumstances as we acknowledge Independence Day later this week.

Happy Canada Day Jenny! Love the teapot arrangement, but that second vase wowed me even more! The blue vase is perfect for such lovely colourful and summery flowers. 😃

Happy Belated Canada Day! A lovely salute. Teapots are one of my favorite things to use as vases.
