I’m late, I’m late for a very important date! I have been slow at getting anything done this week. Hats off to those of you who endure 30C+ for weeks on end. It has been above 30, 34C yesterday, for a while now and I become a sloth! So, my apologies for being late today – this will arrive in your mail likely Tuesday!
Flowers of course don’t mind the heat too much so long as they have moisture and so far we have been lucky enough to have several heavy deluges, with storms of course, so we always check the fire reports after any lightning.
I have a couple of vases today made late last week . The Sweet William, Dianthus barbatus are blooming in profusion and so I had fun making up a couple of bouquets for friends as well as one for the gallery and to show today. It is a bit pinkish again but not as formal as last week’s! I will admit I seem to be drawn to ‘pink’ flowers and yet I don’t decorate with pink or wear pink.
Contained in this bouquet are: Sweet William, Dianthus barbatus, Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium, Yarrow, Achillea millefolium, Bowman’s Root seed head, Gillenia trifoliata, Bunny Tails, Lagurus ovatus, Cress, Lepidium sativum.

Also finally blooming well but probably not loving the heat as much as others, Sweet Peas, Lathyrus odoratus combined with one of my favourite leaves, Sweet Cicely, Myrrhis odorata

I hope readers are able to visit Cathy’s ‘Rambling in the Garden’ blog where she invites others to share their creative flower arrangements from their gardens. They are always inspirational. Thank you Cathy!
