It never fails, come August the nights feel cooler and some mornings definitely indicate fall is coming. The leaves on some trees are already showing signs of being stressed with summer heat and there are occasional tinges of yellow. However the Cosmos is just hitting its stride and annuals like Scabious and Sweet Peas are at their best. Dahlias come into their own and we have the Fall Asters to look forward to.
Not ready for fall colours yet, I put together some pastels. Wild Carrot, Daucus carota,Clarkia, Godetia, Larkspur, Delphinium, Cosmos ‘Rubenza’, Zinnia, Scabious Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Fata Morgana’ and Cosmos foliage.
This combination is all in a vintage square pedestal which takes way more flowers than I realised. I criss-crossed the top with some floral tape to keep everone standing!

I hope readers are able to pop over to Cathy’s blog ‘Rambling In The Garden’ where she hosts people from over the world with flowers from their gardens in lovely arrangements.
