The heat continues despite the glimmers of fall in leaves beginning to turn. It could be the heat and lack of moisture of course that is spurring on their loss as despite a few extra stormy showers this summer, we are still very dry. September vibes nevertheless. On my walk this morning I watched the Trumpeter Swans and family of, now growing six cygnets. I quickly found out they had stayed all summer and did not go further north for breeding as they used to, another reminder of our everchanging climate. Living on a migratory flyway it is a wonderful opportunity to see many different birds throughought the seasons. With our warming winters I wonder how long they will stay now.
This week, I used this monstrous thrift store container as it suits the equally monstrous Amaranthus. This glass contains, as well as Amaranthus, Cosmos, Cosmos foliage a Dahlia believed to be ‘Vudu’ and a ruby Sweet William, Dianthus barbatus.

Reusing last week’s vase is a cornucopia of pastel Zinnias, Yarrow, Achillea millefolium, Snapdragons, Antirhinum ‘Chantilly Lace’, Scabious, Scabiosa ‘Fata Morgana‘and Mint, Mentha
