In a Vase, Monday, September 15

Summer has kept going. Still no frost. At one time our first frost would be the first week of September. Today is a little damp, yay – damp not really raining but any moisture is welcome. I am embarrassed to say I did have another arrangement a couple of days ago and forgot to take a photograph before I took it to the gallery, so this is all I have today. I could run out and pick a few blooms but as I am late already , these few grasses are it!

Tufted Hair Grass, Descahampsia, Feather Reed Grass, Calamagrostis acutiflora ‘Karl Foerster’, Annual ‘Frosted Explosion, Panicum elegans, Silver Grass Miscanthus purpurea.

I confess to having misidentified the Panicum in last week’s vase. Too many plants called ‘Frosted Explosion’! It is now correct.

A glass vase with an arrangement of various grasses, including Calamagrostis acutiflora 'Karl Foerster' and Miscanthus purpureus, resting on a table with decorative small stones at the bottom.

I hope everyone is able to enjoy the changes fall brings.

Don’t forget to head over to ‘Rambling In the Garden’ where Cathy hosts us.

I really like this Jenny! I am a great fan of grasses and showing them alongside each other like this is very effective and a good way of comparing them too! 😃

Thank you Cathy. I must try a bit harder next week for a more fulsome arrangement!!
