In A Vase,September 23

Published by

I am obviously in garden panic mode when I have the first day of Autumn as September 1st which I had for my last post! It has been so warm it is hard to imagine we are now in the third week of September so no wonder we had our last frost at September 22. We frequently have one before then! While I thought of the many garden jobs to do before the really cold weather hits I snatched these late bloomers from the garden and plonked them in a pot! There is still the fall Flowering Monkshood to bloom, so I hope it makes it.

Here is Rudbeckia lacienata, Sedum’Autumn Joy’ and Michaelmas Daisy or Fall Aster.

Last Minute Jumble

Couldn’t resist doing this with Lunaria.

Money Bank

I will now head over to Rambling In The Garden where I can drool over all the blooms in frost free climes. Thank you Cathy for enabling us to do that!

Frost is a sad time in the garden… it always takes me a few days to adjust to the idea that gardening is pretty much over for the season. šŸ™ Oh, well, onward, right?

Just beautiful and I love the pot.

It is a very useful pot but I managed to chip the rim a few months ago. Darn! I shouldn’t tell!! It’s interesting how useful some vases are and others are once a year.

I’m sorry about the chip. So frustrating.

Both arrangements are lovely, Jenny! I’m sure my head would spin if I faced a killing frost in September. To say we even have 4 seasons here is something of a misnomer. It’d be more accurate to say we have just 2 seasons: a cool season that also brings rain (occasionally, if we’re lucky) and a warm-hot season. The shifts between the 2 are also utterly unpredictable.

I must admit I enjoy four seasons as that seems to be what my body is or was used to! I struggle in the summer heat we get now. I love the transition at this time when everything becomes golden.

Frost in September? We are having hurricanes, oh, well. I love the Lunaria, simply arranged. looks great. Enjoy the golden light.

Yes, world weather is crazy. The hurricane does not look good, more dangerous than a frost. I hope you are okay.
