Arabis with ‘Cesky Gold’ Dwarf Birch

The joy of Arabis is its bright white light showing up early in the spring. There are pink varieties available but I like partnered with purple Aubretia, which has a similar form. This plant is suitable for rock gardens, rocky areas, edging, bulb gardens and areas where taller plants just won’t work, such as wind prone areas. It does like full sun and will bloom less in shady areas. It is pictured above with ‘Cesky Gold’ Dwarf Birch. It would combine well with other short plants such as Gentian, Saxifrages, Aubretia, Dwarf Iris, Sedums, Euphorbia polychroma, Cushion Spurge.

Think of the Plains of Arabia when planting as it is this plants origin.

Not sure I have Arabis as I always mix this plant up with Iberis (which I definitely do have). But I am always looking for fragrant plants so must look into this. Thanks for sharing Jenny!

I used to have Candytuft, Iberis, but it seems ‘iffy’ here so gave up! I like the controlled spread of Arabis in suitable areas!
