I have Ranunculus – just a few but I am quite thrilled they made it. For this weeks vase I sacrificed a few, some of which look more like poppies! Also included are Yellow Loosestrife, Lysimachia punctata, Mountain Bluet, Centaurea montana, Salvia (?) purple Anemone from corms, Iceland poppies,Papaver nudicaule, Ranunculus with Oregano and Lady’s mantle, Alchemilla mollis as fillers.
The Sweet Rocket, Hesperis matronalis in the garden, is gradually letting leggy and floppy so I spent quite a bit of time this weekend, thinning out excess growth. Although I have left quite a bit I shall miss that heavy scent as I walk around the garden. The gumdrop colours in today’s vase make a lovely change from those spring pastels.
