In A Vase, Monday October 27

I missed last week , first time since I started doing ‘In a Vase’ and I really did not think I would find much colour at all this week but thanks to the wonderful October weather and no more snow, I did find slim pickings. Here they are:

A bouquet of mixed autumn flowers including purple asters, pink phlox, and green leaves, arranged in a clear glass vase on a white shelf.
A vibrant bouquet of mixed flowers including purple asters, pink phlox, an orange marigold, and colorful leaves, arranged in a clear glass vase against a neutral background.
  • yellow leaves of Weeping Birch, Betula pendula
  • Garden Phlox, Phlox paniculata
  • Red Veined Sorrel, Rumex sanguinius
  • Rudbeckia lacienata
  • Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’
  • Calendula
  • Pink Snow Berry, Symphoricarpos ‘Marleen’
  • New England Aster/ Fall Aster (Symphyotrichum novae−angliae)

It is a beautiful time of year here in the East Kootenays and the Western Larch are showing off their best attire. This area is known for its Larix occidentalis. Walking anywhere their orange foliage is visible on the mountain sides and within some gardens. From the dog walk yesterday:

I am looking forward to seeing others gatherings for late October. Thank you Cathy of Rambling in the Garden for hosting.

Glad you were able to find some treasure, Jenny. The larch really light up the landscape!

The Larch certainly light up the landscape and make up for the lack of deciduous Maple etc. We have those in our gardens but most of the forest is coniferous.

Glad you could find enough for a oretty little posy Jenny. Your larches are beautiful! I love larches and planted seven baby ones when we moved here and they are finally big enough to make an impact when they start turning… just another week or so to wait now. 😃

They are beautiful trees – in the spring too with their soft green. My apples still have their leaves but the Maples, Poplars and Birch have all lost theirs
