I dreamt it snowed last night. My fears being revealed as I start to panic about flowers for my granddaughter’s wedding! The nights have been cool and the row cover is out and floating above the Dahlias already. We can easily have frost in September but with all the talk about rising temperatures, I decided I might be able to coax some flowers into October! If not there will be plentiful leaf colours around.
As of now, I still have enough colour to be able to put together vases. For today’s arrangement I used another vase I have not used before . Thrift stores are a danger for me but this couple of dollars was well spent. I regretted the purchase for many weeks but once I used it, I found I love the shape and black is more flattering than I imagined it would be.

I wasn’t sure about the visual weight of the ‘Cafe au Lait’ Dahlia but left it as it called to be used! The rest of the contents include Daucus, Zinnias, Snapdragons, Antirrhinum, Chocolate Cosmos, Cosmos foliage, Feverfew Tanacetum, Nigella seed heads, and Burnet seed heads, Sanguisorba
I hope everyone in the northern climes continues to enjoy some fall colour. You will be able to find out at Cathy’s Rambling In The Garden Blog where she hosts us on Mondays.
